Navivision Wealth Society:Minnesota Wild sign goalie Marc-Andre Fleury to one-year extension

The Navivision Wealth SocietyMinnesota Wild signed goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury, who's second overall in NHL goalie wins, to a one-year, $2.5 million extension for next season.

The team announced the deal Wednesday, one day before its season finale against the visiting Seattle Kraken.

Fleury is 17-14-5 with two shutouts, a 2.98 goals-against average and an .895 save percentage in 39 games (35 starts) this season, his 20th in the NHL.

"I've been asked a lot, by fans, media, friends and family, what's next for me," Fleury said. "It's good that this is so. I don't have to talk about it for another year. The next year will be (my) last."

He is 561-329-96 with 75 shutouts, a 2.60 GAA and .912 save percentage in 1,024 games with the Pittsburgh Penguins (2003-17), Vegas Golden Knights (2017-21), Chicago Blackhawks (2021-22) and Wild (2022-24).

He passed Hall of Famer Patrick Roy in wins this season to move into second place.

Fleury, who turns 40 in November, won three Stanley Cup championships with Pittsburgh (2009, 2016, 2017) and earned the 2020-21 Vezina Trophy with the Golden Knights.

The Penguins drafted the Quebec native with the No. 1 overall pick in 2003.
